The Parish Council meeting dates are 9th May, 11th July, 12th September & 14th November 2017 starting at 8pm at Clifton Campville Village Hall. Full details are always on the parish notice boards in the week before the meetings. Members of the public are very welcome to attend and a part of each meeting is set aside for you to have your say and ask questions. We welcome your feedback and comments about this newsletter or any other matter you wish to raise. Anyone that has any parish information/news to go in the newsletter can contact the parish clerk.

A note of caution to residents, please do not leave any unwanted items outside your property in hope that the scrap man will come and collect it. This looks untidy and encourages scrap metal dealers to visit the parish who may not be registered or have a licence to do this.

Parish Council Meeting
The next meeting is the AGM held at 7.30pm on 9th May 2017 all are very welcome to attend. The normal parish council meeting is held afterwards when we will be happy to answer any questions anybody has.
Welcome to the New Rector
The Parish Council would like to extend their welcome to Rev John, Gemma and their three Children, Joshua, Evie and Leo to the community, we hope they have settled in to village life.
Some of you may have noticed that the Parish Council share of your Council Tax has increased this year. With Lichfield District Council funds becoming tighter and tighter we have increased or percentage so that money can be put towards more village assets.
We are currently acquiring quotes for the acquisition of speed awareness signs in the villages. We are also being encouraged to fund more minor works throughout the community e.g. cleaning grips out.
We have recently finalised the acquisition of the two telephone kiosks in the community. We will be looking to have any glass repaired, any offers of volunteers wishing to help paint the kiosks would be gratefully received.
Does anybody have any ideas of what the kiosks can be used for other than moving the defibrillator?
The Parish Council wish to thank all who helped on the day or other days in keeping the community clean with our annual litter pick.
A polite reminder to all dog owners to please pick up after your dogs, the dog waste bags can go into any black bin in the village if you are not in the vicinity of a proper dog waste bin. Thank you.
A warm welcome awaits villagers to join in St Andrew’s Easter Day celebrations at 10.15 am.
Many of us are fortunate enough to remember the fantastic views of the surrounding countryside from the church tower parapet level. In more recent times, as Churchwarden, I have lost count of the number of times I have been approached by people asking to be allowed to climb the church tower steps only to be told no. Sadly the answer has had to be no, on health and safety grounds because of the parlous state of the steps above the ringing chamber, of the 112 steps to the top, over 60 have become badly worn and unsafe.
Happily, the PCC have agreed that the Tower stairs and leaking parapet gutter, identified as urgent in the most recent architects Quinquennial Report, have become a number one priority. The architect has prepared detailed requirements for the repair work and has requested tenders from suitably qualified specialists. We have already received some generous donations, but we urgently seek publicly minded and generous folks to come forward with further contributions to contribute towards the cost of the project. Millennium Green Trust
Wednesday 31st May 2017 at 7.30pm – Annual General Meeting of the Coneyberry Mllennium Green Trust in the Village Hall.
Come along and learn about what the Trustees have been doing, tell us your views, ask questions and make suggestions.
John Bainbridge, who has served as a Trustee for over 12 years, will be standing down as Chair and bidding farewell to the Trust at the Annual General Meeting. He has selflessly devoted much of his time and effort to developing and maintaining the Green during his period of office and now feels the moment has come to spend more time on other projects.
There will therefore be a vacancy for a Trustee. For more information about the Trust and its work please speak to one of the Millennium Green Trustees. If you are interested and would like more specific information about the role of a Trustee please contact the secretary, Sue Wadham, on 373814.
A lot of work has been undertaken by Trustees and volunteers over the winter, particularly within the woodland area of the Green. Hazels have been coppiced, unwanted low branches removed and cherry suckers cleared. Thank you to everyone who has helped us in this task, particularly the guys from D C Tree Care in the village who have given their time to assist us with chipping the debris. The Green takes a lot of upkeep – if you can spare an hour or so to help please contact Clive on 373352.

Your Country Fair
SATURDAY 10th JUNE 2017
The success of the fair is very much dependent on volunteers. All the proceeds go towards the local community (especially the upkeep of the Millennium Green and the Village Hall).
Join our team and give an hour or two on the day – or on the days before to help with preparations.
- Setting up and taking down marquees/tents
- Car Parking stewards & stewards on the field
- Entrance gates
- Helping on stalls – Ice cream, cake stall, and others.
- Making cakes for the refreshment tent
- Helping with the hot food and drinks.
- Selling raffle tickets before the event and on the day
